Welcome to Framing Muslims website!
Our project is international and interdisciplinary. It looks at the way Muslims are depicted (and depict themselves) across a range of areas in political, legal, public and media discourses. We are interested in tracing the recurrence of certain structures governing these representations - such as stereotyping or narrow types of agenda setting – how these appear, and how they might be circumvented or subverted by users.
On this website you will find information about the network, our partners, forthcoming events, related links and relevant publications. In our Event Archive you will find a record of all the workshops and seminars that have taken place so far. Most of these are available to download as podcasts (click here to subscribe). From time to time we will be updating our list of Hot Topics, where you can log in using the box on the right, or register to contribute to the debate.
